A Friendly Badminton game for Students and Teachers of The College of Law and Political Science

On the night of May 6th the friendly badminton competition between members of staff, international and postgraduate students from the College of Law and Political Science officially began. The competition which was made up of doubles games that put international students and postgraduates students up against staff members in a head to head game held in the school’s new gymnasium.

One hour before the competition, a few international students had already started stretching and warming up at court-side.After a intense warm up and a quick one on one badminton practice, the gymnasium slowly started becoming more and more packed with the arrival of the contestants.

And they’re off! Due to their incredible performance, a couple of international students soon became a point of interest.Through an obvious athletic ability and amazing accuracy,each hit brought on a wave of cheers from the crowd. Staff members from the College of Law and Political Science also gave a marvelous performance, their athletic performance was also met with praise by onlookers of the event.Serve! Backhand! Spin! Each movement was carefully planned and the international students weren’t going to go down without a fight.It was an amazing sight as a few African students battling it out against their opponents were completely focused as sweat dripped down their face. The game was really a chance to have fun, and judging from the smiles on the faces of contestants and crowd members alike, it’s safe to say that everyone did!

After the match a few contestants began playing freely with each other, not only was this contest a way to exercise but more importantly it was a way to increase the communication between students and teachers.After an incredible display of badminton ability by both parties and a few hours of competition the games ended, leaving everyone a little bit richer for joining in.
