Academic Fraternity Honors Outstanding International Students

International Academic Fraternity of ZJNU (SIGMA) under China-Africa International Business School and College of Economics and Management, Zhejiang Normal University honored IMBA and IBM (International Masters in Business Administration & International Business Management) students at a dinner and party event this Friday, 8th of January.

The event which took place at C’est La Vie Café Luojiatang highlighted the students who helped organized class members in group work, homework and tutoring sessions. It also acknowledged the contribution of students who enhanced social life not just for themselves, but for success and happiness of their classmates and other students in Zhejiang Normal University.

Host of the event, the society’s Social Director Enrique De La Huerta expressed the educational relevance of the gathering “what we’re looking for from these events is to gather people and help them interact, negotiate and develop their ideas in a more social and relaxed environment. We are also eager to show all the people outside that our fraternity is an open space for everyone. We all study and work hard for our dreams, but we enjoy having a good time too.”

SIGMA Secretary Silvia Losiana Lomanto emphasized the social importance of the event “we laughed, danced and took pictures together. Despite how short the duration of the event was, we have more expectations for next gatherings. Though, this moment also brought us closer to each other, from not knowing someone to knowing them, from strangers to friends, and from friends to family".

A recipient of the society’s top award “Award of Merit” from IMBA Class of 2014, and also the class leader Kalilu Kudi appreciates the student organization “I must confess, the dinner and award night was interactive, entertaining and educative. It really demonstrated the knack SIGMAs have to project intellectualism and electrifying willingness when it comes to organizing such a wonderful program. It was a depiction of oneness".

The academic fraternity has also lunched a research paper writing competition called “Hen Hao De Research Paper”. It asks for the role of a “particular” Chinese intermediate input in the economy of an African country. Finalists will win cash prices and possible publications in magazines.
